About Heather

Heather Duncan is an artist and teacher based out of Washington, DC where she lives with her husband, three kids, and dog, Henry. She is a native Oklahoman and draws much of her inspiration from the wide-open skies of the plains. 

Heather finds magic in color. She pairs bold colors with simple scenes and icon images bringing new life and perspective to ordinary everyday life. Her preferred medium is acrylagouache. 

As a teacher in the community, Heather has taught art to all ages and ability levels. She finds great joy in teaching process art to both children and individuals who have experienced trauma. She believes that creativity and art making should be accessible to all people, regardless of income level or ability level.
